Description

Our client is seeking a motivated IT User Support & Junior Network Support Specialist to join its IT team. This hybrid role provides front-line technical assistance to employees while also supporting the administration of network systems and IT infrastructure. This position is an excellent opportunity for an individual looking to grow from help desk/user support into broader IT and networking responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

User Support

  • Provide first-line technical support for desktops, laptops, mobile devices, and business applications.
  • Troubleshoot hardware, software, and account-access issues (Windows, Linux, Microsoft 365, Google Workspace).
  • Manage user accounts, permissions, and equipment setups.
  • Document support activities and maintain accurate records within the IT ticketing system.

Junior Network Support

  • Assist with monitoring and maintaining wired and wireless network environments.
  • Support configuration and troubleshooting of switches, firewalls, access points, and VPNs.
  • Collaborate with senior network administrators to deploy patches, updates, and system upgrades.
  • Help maintain network security by applying basic best practices and escalating alerts when necessary.
  • Assist with documenting network diagrams, standards, and procedures.

Requirements

Qualifications

  • 1–2 years of IT support experience (or equivalent technical training).
  • Familiarity with Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, and foundational networking concepts.
  • Working knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities with excellent communication and customer service skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • CompTIA A+, Network+, or equivalent certification.
  • Experience using help desk/ticketing systems.
  • Exposure to routers, switches, firewalls, or wireless networking equipment (Ubiquiti, Cisco, etc.).
  • Understanding of VLANs, IP addressing, and basic cybersecurity best practices.
