Summary:

Our client is currently looking for full-time Design Technicians who want to join their dynamic team! Design Technicians play a key role in the design of every product solution. Many have two-year degrees or certificates in Engineering, Construction Management, or Architecture. They are experts in not only structural design and our client’s products, but in clear communication of product and installation requirements. Design Technicians work under the supervision of a licensed Professional Engineer and report to the Design Center Leader.

Our client is committed to continuous growth and will support this candidate with educational assistance and job-related training.

Projects may be diverse, but the duties of a Design Technician are focused on supporting our client’s growing prefabricated wall systems business:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Floor & roof system modeling using Revit software
  • Wall system modeling for wood and light gauge steel wall systems using Revit software
  • Mass timber system modeling using Revit software
  • Detailing
  • Floor & roof truss design using proprietary software
  • Component design analysis and selection
  • Critical communication with customers, architects, engineers, and the sales team

Qualified Candidates Must Be:

  • Experienced in drafting and modeling software such as Revit
  • Excellent at reading and interpreting construction drawings
  • Comfortable with the application of basic trigonometry
  • Detail-oriented and quality-focused
  • Comfortable and productive using Microsoft Office tools
  • Innovative and creative problem solvers
  • A team player and great communicator

Helpful Alternate Experience Includes:

  • Framing or construction experience
  • Dynamo scripting for Revit
  • Experience with other BIM software tools
  • Prior experience designing structural systems in wood
