Each city could easily fill its own blog. However, combing the two seemed like the natural thing to do. Fun fact: the I-90 Aerospace Corridor is one major reason why this regional economy is growing (more on that soon!)
In recent years, Boise has garnered a lot of attention for the growth happening in the Treasure Valley. The Spokane / CDA region however, has a comparable population (over 700k). Both areas are seeing large growth in a range of similar industries.
The I-90 Aerospace Corridor consists of over 200 companies and organizations in the aerospace industry and stretches across northern Montana, Idaho, and Washington and goes right through Coeur d’Alene and Spokane. With 25 colleges and universities peppered across this route, lower cost-of-living options, and easy access to all-season outdoor activities, it’s easy to see why Spokane / CDA is growing quickly! This corridor has created jobs in manufacturing, IT, and trucking / distribution and continues to grow.
Healthcare is not only a major industry in this region but is also a focal point for future growth. Education, events, and technology are all facets of the growth happening within the healthcare sector here. They host an annual conference called MAX which has featured speakers from IBM Watson Health and Johns Hopkins and brings together many key decision makers in the industry to highlight innovations happening in healthcare. This industry will be one to watch in the Spokane / CDA region in the future!
This area is home to a growing and thriving IT community. Companies like Kochava, Two Barrels, ClickFunnels, and OpenEye (to name just a few) are all leading and making strides in different sectors of the technology field.
