• If you didn’t already mention which role you’d be interested in applying for, include that in your follow up or feel free to resurface the mentioned role from your previous message
• Include what you can bring to the company that they’re hiring for
• Keep your message simple, short, and include the most important part of every message…the call to action

What Are Some Other Message Tips For LinkedIn?

• Don’t listing all of your achievements because your profile should be filled with your career accomplishments
• Think of the connection request as a trailer, give a little snippet that intrigues job recruiters
• Use a call to action at the end of your message
• Use a simple “Looking forward to connecting!” or “please check out my profile to see how I may be able to help”
• Before sending your connection message, proof-read with a tool like Grammarly
• You can only use 300 characters in the first request; so make sure to choose your words wisely
